November Homework

As promised to you and the students, I have created homework for November. Starting in November, I will send home a homework packet at the beginning of each month. The picture below shows the first page. Each day of the week, the children will do something different.

Here, you will see the rest of the packet. It's pretty self-explanatory. On each page, you will see a day and a number at the top. For example, Monday 1, Tuesday 1, Wednesday 1 and Thursday 1 all refer to week 1 on the calendar.

Please read the directions to your child and let them complete the work on their own. You may find that some activities will require your guidance. For example, there will be times where your child will have to read and/or write words or sentences. Encourage your child to say the words slow and have them write down the letter sounds that they hear. This will encourage them and give them the confidence to sound out words when writing. It's ok if the word is not spelled correctly. At this stage in writing, they're not ready for the silent letters, exceptions to the rule, etc. As for the rest of the work, your child should be able to do most of this on their own without your help. As the year goes on, the homework may get easier or harder depending on their skill level. These monthly homework packets are due at the end of the month. Please send it back in their notebooks. The November homework packet will come home in the notebooks Thursday.

If your child finishes this quickly, I have created a more challenging homework packet. You can find that by clicking here.
