Insects!

Welcome to a rainy Monday! I hope that you all had a wonderful, restful weekend. My husband and I sure did. It was really nice to have a weekend without any plans. We had 2 upsetting days of football. First on Saturday with the VT game and yesterday with the Panthers. I feel like both teams should have won their games. Oh well, hopefully they'll do better next weekend.

Today begins our unit on insects! I am sure you are thinking how yucky this could be. It's actually a very fun unit of study! Our insect unit correlates with one of our main science standards. Students will learn characteristics of insects along with the life cycle they go through. Our ladybugs came in last week, and they have been placed into our Ladybug Land. Those poor guys have gone through some traumatic experiences! First, many escaped when I was putting them in the Land. With 100+ ladybugs, it's difficult to get them all in without many crawling out and escaping. Then, throughout the day Friday, 2 different students tried to pick up the Ladybug Land causing the dome to come off. More ladybugs escaped. You can never get them all back in. I had ladybugs crawling on the floor, up my arm, up my leg and even some in my purse. Hopefully over the weekend, all of the extra ladybugs found their way outside! :)

Be ready to ask your child what they know about insects!

On another note.....

Meet our Star of the Week Campbell!!
