Can you believe that today is the last day???? It has come so quick and I'm sure today will fly by. Last night's party went so well! I couldn't have been happier with how it turned out. The kids all seemed to have such a good time hanging out with each other. I am going to miss these kiddos so much. I feel like the year has gone by way too fast. The kids have really learned a lot this year. I am so proud of each and every one of them.
I want to take this time to also thank all of the wonderful parents we have had this year. You are truly one of a kind! I have enjoyed all of the kind words and compliments throughout the year. It definitely makes this job worth waking up at 5:30! I couldn't ask for a better job! Thank you for all of the gifts that you have sent in this week and all year. They have all been truly appreciated!
Please stay in touch throughout the summer! I will be around and will still check my school email. I hope you guys have a great summer! :)

Last Full Day of Kindergarten
It's hard to believe that today is the last full day of the year. I can't believe it. On one hand I am so excited for summer to start. I have so many things that I want to accomplish this summer. However, on the other hand, I am sad to see the kids leave. I feel like I just really got to know them. It's hard to believe how much they have grown up since we met them in August!
Tomorrow will be our end of the year party. We will be at Hanna's house. Let me know if you need the address again or directions. I would be happy to send that info out. Tomorrow, we will order pizza. Please send in $1.50 for each person attending. We will be ordering 11 pizzas. Some parents have signed up to bring things such as fruit, bottled water, ice cream and a Jersey Mike's tray. If you would like to bring something as well, please let us know.
Hanna has a pool at her house, so you are free to wear a swimsuit. I can't wait to see you all tomorrow! :)

Great Whites and Orca Whales
Today, we learned about orca whales. Both of these animals are very interesting! The kids were so intrigued that divers can go underwater and photograph these animals. They didn't quite understand the cage that these divers are in, so we looked them up on the computer. Check out the details below in some of their pictures. Many of them really had a different idea about this diving cage!
Oh my! These divers have dresses! |
Anyway, I'm working on getting a final count for our end of the year party. After I have gotten a count, I will get a price for pizza and let everyone know how much it is.
Happy Thursday!! :)

Water Balloons, Sunscreen and 1st Grade
I have spent the last 45 minutes filling up water balloons. I don't realize how much I dislike water balloons until this time of the year. We don't have a water hose handy, so I have to use the faucet in our sink. I can't even use the little convenient spout that they provide. So, 50% of the balloons are successful and the other 50% are broken in the trash can. The kids saw me filling these up this morning and could barely contain their excitement. This makes all of the broken water balloons worth it. When I met the kids this morning, I got a huge whiff of sunscreen. This is one of the signs that summer vacation is close! It's so hard to believe that this school year is almost over. I have really enjoyed watching these kids grow up and learn so much. They have really come a long way since we met in August. Today, we will go over to Mrs. Elkins' classroom. Mrs. Elkins is a 1st grade teacher. They will get a sneak peek of what it will be like to sit at a desk in 1st grade. I can't wait for all of the memorable experiences today. It will be a lot of fun!
Check out how excited they are....

Happy Birthday to Brian and Will!
Beach Day tomorrow!!
Tomorrow will be beach day! This day is always a fun and exciting time for our kindergarten students! It is also a fun day for their teachers! Tomorrow, your child may wear their bathing suit to school, or they can bring it in their backpack. It would be a great idea to go ahead and put sunscreen on them before coming to school. They can also bring that to school if you wish. We will reapply as needed. Please also make sure that your child brings a towel to dry off with. This can be a beach towel. Check out our pictures below of last year's beach day!

New to blogging
So I have never, ever created a blog. So, please bear with me! I am attempting to create this blog so that past and current parents can keep up with what we are doing in our classroom! I am not really happy with how my school website works. It doesn't offer all of the features that I'd like. If you have any advice on blogging, please let me know!
